FACE

Facelift/Neck lift

A facelift, also known as rhytidectomy, is a surgical procedure that improves visible signs of ageing in the face and neck, such as:

  • Face skin relaxation causes sagging
  • The fold lines between the nose and the corner of the mouth becoming deeper.
  • Fat that has fallen or disappeared
  • Developing jowls in the cheeks and jaws
  • Loose skin and excess fat in the neck, which can manifest as a double chin or "turkey neck"
  • The loss of youthful contours in the face can be caused by a variety of factors, including skin thinning, loss of facial fat, gravity, sun damage, smoking, heredity, and stress.

Two other treatments that may be done in conjunction with a facelift include a brow lift and eyelid surgery to revitalise ageing eyes. Fat transfer or fillers may be recommended to replace the lost fatty volume. It may be possible to offer treatments like IPL, dermabrasion, peels, or laser to enhance the quality and texture of the skin.

A facelift, as a restorative surgery, does not alter your fundamental appearance and cannot reverse the ageing process.

A facelift can only be performed surgically; minimally invasive rejuvenation treatments cannot achieve the same results, but they can help postpone the time when a facelift is necessary and complement the results of surgery.

Some minimally invasive treatments, such as stem cell facelifts, have yet to be proven to be beneficial.

Eyelid Surgery

Blepharoplasty, or eyelid surgery, is a surgical procedure used to improve the appearance of the eyelids.

Upper and lower lid surgery, or either of the both, are options that can be performed Eyelid surgery can rejuvenate the area around your eyes, whether you want to improve your appearance or are experiencing functional problems with your eyelids.

What can eyelid surgery treat?

  • Loose or sagging skin that causes folds or disrupts the natural contour of the upper eyelid, occasionally impairing vision
  • Puffiness brought on by fatty build-up on the eyelids.
  • Bags beneath the eyes
  • Lower eyelids that droop and reveal white beneath the iris
  • Extra skin and small creases on the lower eyelids

Fat Grafting

Cosmetic surgery to move fat from one part of the body to another is known as surgical fat transfer. It is also referred to as a "fat graft" or "lipomodeling."

The goal is to remove excess fat from one area of the body, such as the tummy or thighs, and use it to smooth or enlarge another, such as the breasts or bottom. A surgical fat transfer called a Brazilian butt lift includes the bottom (BBL).

A surgical fat transfer is a major decision. It can be costly, the outcomes are not guaranteed, and there are risks.

Before you proceed, it's a good idea to look into other fat-loss options, such as the non-surgical NHS weight loss plan.

A surgical fat transfer can be performed under either general or local anaesthesia. It consists of three major stages:

  • Removing the fat - small cuts are made in the skin, and a thin tube is used to suck out small amounts of fat (similar to liposuction); the cuts are then stitched together
  • The recovered fat is prepared by being separated from any blood and other fluids using specialised equipment.
  • Injecting the fat - small amounts of fat are injected into the area being treated; stitches are usually not required

The procedure usually takes a few hours. You may be able to go home immediately after the procedure, or you may need to stay in the hospital overnight.

If a large area is being treated, your treatment may require two or more sessions.

You should not experience much discomfort during the procedure, but you may experience some for a few days or weeks afterwards. You will be given pain medication if you require it.

Recovery

Make sure to have someone accompany you as .you need post operative support You can resume driving as soon as you are able to do so without discomfort.

For a few weeks, the treated areas will most likely be bruised and swollen. You might want to take a few weeks off from work.

A surgical fat transfer can take up to 6 months to fully take effect because some of the injected fat may be reabsorbed by your body during the first few months following the procedure.
